DEREK, I REMEMBER YOU TEARING THE BUSCH BOYS DECAL OFF RUTHIE'S CAR WHEN IT LOST BY .00 SOMETHING. SEEMS LIKE MAYBE THAT .005 IS IN THAT BIG ZERRO ERROR DECAL ON THE SIDE. ( YOU MUST HAVE SUSPECTED, YOU ROUNDED THE LEADING EDGE). JUST KIDDING YA KNOW, I BETTER GO TRY TO FIND 10 MPH, MY STUFF SUCKS. CARS LOOK GOOD ! ENOUGH TO RUN AT W-S ? STEVE

Steve......the good ole days when derbys were built and not a production item. In those days man was I high strung............I mean we had to win right. Still crazy about winning but maybe I've chilled out a little........not.......Savannah raced at Nationals in Novice and we got last in a 3 car race. She left with Muncie stripes on her wheels. Hal drove all the way up and I embarassed him. Designing and building the ZE cars was a 6 month effort that required a lot of time. They are fully designed and ready to sell. Working on pricing and adding to my site. Tell LaBonte I said stand on it can't wait to see that 43 back in Victory lane.

The billet airfoils are really awesome. All internal parts are billet. The steering performed flawlessly. We are very proud of our kit.

HEY HEY HEY BRO, NO WAY . I WAS NOT EMBARASSED AT ALL!!! DISAPPOINTED A LITTLE - MAYBE??? AS LONG AS SHE HAD FUN!!! BUT THAT WASN'T THE ONLY REASON I MADE THE TRIP. I NEEDED A BREAK FROM WORK AND WANTED TO CHECK OUT SOME SCENERY ON THE WAY. THANKS, FOR LETTING ME HELP OUT WITH THE CARS . I GUESS ,I DO MISS THE RACING. LIKE I SAID BEFORE, I AM REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE STEERING ASSEMBLY AND THE AIRFOILS. LATER, HAL

SPORTY ,YOU MUST BE NEW TO THE SPORT, ''the all-american'' HAD A CHANCE TO HAVE KITS LIKE THIS 10yrs AGO. DEREK,DESIGNED BOTH SIT -UP & 2 DIFFERENT SIZE LAYBACK CARS. BUT ,''the powers'' THAT BE AND THE POLITICS OF''the all-american'' GAVE US THE ENGINEERING NIGHTMARE CALLED ''the scotty'' INSTEAD. WHO DROPPED THE BALL???? LATER, HAL

Yes my son only entered into racing in 2006. AASBD,2 Local races and some rallies. So we are jsut getting really into the sport. But so far a 2nd place at his local. Thanks to a few great people, Like Joe Ferguson, Kevin Franks. They helped make this happen for my son.

But the more I learn and see, the more I am amazed or dis-apointed.

Those are some awesome cars. Gotta give a a+ to zero error.

I have a portion of the tools now also.

to me it seems like derek is going against everything he is know to stand up for creativity the zero error car takes all away except for paing it also is not a car designed for tall of heavier kids .

catdog- 08-17-2007
Not really Nevin,
With this divisoin as I understand it you can make your own mounts and running gear in any style you want. You can use cable steering instead of the cam system if you want to. As long as the length, width, girth and wheelbase are right then the car is legal. You're right that it isn't designed for a big kid.

I am hoping that Derek might try and Speak with Jim Huntsman about this area.

I think Jim would be open to and listen to Derek. I think Jim and some of the People are really trying to make the AASBD more Hip and more open and welcomed.

I know the AASBD likely does kits, to help get the racing more even and lower cost. Also not everyone is very good at fiberglass and building.

The kit for better or worse does give the average parent and child a chance to race.

I think his cars are amazing, They might be thin. But wow ! they remind me of the 1998 jamie marshes car. Or the model anyhow.

But I think now, might be a good time for design ideas. now it looks like it might be pretty hard to do a exact or very close kit of this shape and design.

It also be something derek might be against.

However, just getting the stock or super stock to have some closer looking aspects of dereks ze car. WOW.

Also, I like to point out, I dont have a pick up truck or a trailer. we all the stock squeezed in the back of a SUV.

And I am not alone.

Seems to me you a commenting before you know facts. ZE car was designed 10 years ago to race with the stick situps. It was a larger car compared to most situps. This car has all the creativity in the world nothing in derby has this innovation. The rules will be length, wheelbase, ground clearance and a few others. So personally I feel I HAVE NOT gone against everything I stand for but the totally opposite. You can run whatever you want in this car. You are right about the size but.....SS will fit anyone so I feel everyone is covered. This car is for hardcore ADVANCED builders if they want to build all internal parts or its for newbies because my kit is so technologically advanced.
Nevin ...I would answer your other question but the grammer is so bad I don't have a clue what you are saying.
This is the orignal that Krista won NDR in and that the ZE car was designed after.

I think i could fit into that car and im about 5ft 10" (give or take an inch). I would like to see them race down Winston Salem's track.

Derek, what’s the wheelbase on that car? When you say you can use any type of mounting system, im guessing you don’t have a big list of mounts to choose from since the back of the car is so narrow.

Car looks good

I can't tell from the pic. but did the original car have cam steering?

I was unaware of all the things you are allowed to do with these cars. Now that I know they seem like a great addition to the racing curcuit , the only question I have is that the super can fit the larger kids but once you have been in it racing for years like you and almost all of the people who read this board , they want to do something more then a super stock. like this new cam steering and try different mounting set-ups ,how heavy are these zero error cars , and what is the weight limit. As far as I can see I was wrong in my original thoughts about these cars , and was wrong for putting them down when i didnt have all of the facts to go off of.

Hey Chris I don't think you would be able to fit, brandon josh and i tried out at nationals and i could barely fit my legs in lol. But you could still give it a try if you want lol.
