Your name fits you well. This topic is about an official acting naive to things he knew would give his family an advantage and doing nothing about it, when he had the power to make things fair.
Your stupidity is pouring out, your name was taking off the official list for your wrong doings, so your merit went out the window.
Also we wanted to race, real bad, we even have a complete car ready, but Momma's Mom(Grandmom) was real sick and family comes first, not SBD. The family went to Texas right after the kids school year was over.
Thank God they did, they got to spend 10 great days before she passed away. I took the next plane out to support my family when I got the new's. Fools like you are the one's ruining our local.
Jim H. has received my writings and all are signed with my name- I don't Hide, I speak the truth- YOU FOOL.
So stop spreading rumor's around, you really look like an rear-end again.
By the way , you know how to reach me, we have unfinished business- just you and I.
Derby FOOL (of poop), the shoe thing, if you want me to tell the truth and spread more about our local- call me out on this one. I'll start another post and let other's know about another cheater car and how you acted.
I hope that all who read this post know, I have only posted under junior champ and I am in no way collaborating with other's PERIOD!!!!!!!!
Derbynut,
I really hope that what your saying is not why they are DQing this car, but the self-server probably needed a escape goat and this family is it.
On the other hand , It was said to me, this car had a lot of minor infractions that lead up to a DQ. I may not agree to this, but the new director was pretty clear about how he was going to run the race. All experienced builder's knew he was going to be by the book.
Body filler in a new SS shell and the use of another car's steering from a car that went to Akron is where the problem lye's, I believe. It was just a added bonus having wd-40,white stuff(?) and a stuck plate to a floorboard.
I would have been pretty bent, if that had happen to my family, but live and learn under our new leadership.
This little girl can do it again next year, and I would start now building a cleaner car for next year's local, to prove them wrong.
Derbynut, two names that I would of left out of your posts are
1. George Rodenbaugh is not your problem- he doesn't stick his neck out - when your in the wrong. Rules are rules, Having this much exposure about this car - even more than ever has to be by the book.
2. Don Lennox. , He would have had the family fix this car, not a DQ.
Back to the real reason I started this post and to bring closure.
The assistant Director (Allan (in) STEAD) got away with his evil, and I believe all higher powers are on to him. Mission accomplished
Your going to have to race the right way now- stop bring shame to your family- there are good people with the same last name as you.

As entertaining as it is to read all of these rumors, snide remarks, accusations, and gossip, it is a detriment to the sport of Derby. Six pages of posts for literally the world to read, create the impression that this is what Derby has become. For most it simply is sad to see what depths adults can sink to in their desire to win. A local should not seem like it is a Jerry Springer episode. All perspective seems to have been lost. Be honest, it is not about the kids for several of you and you should consider either entering the Ultimate division or quitting.
Our local was great and run fairly, everyone involved tried their best and supports the Champs in everyway. The organization helps each other out all the time with parts, assistance, advice, getting together to share tools and prepare the cars while the kids help and have fun together. New racers are mentored by experienced racers as as a result the organization has grown, numerous track improvements have been made possible, and every family enjoys the sport. Thanks to Kirby, Scott, Lowell K, Mike, Tim, Pat, Charlie, and all those who paved the way for our group to strive to do their best, learn more every race, while still keeping it all in perspective and allowing the kids to have FUN!
This is supposed to be a sport where kids spend time with an adult and learn not only how to do their best but that they are important enough to an adult in their life to invest time and treasure into. When that goal becomes secondary it is time to find something else to do.

Here is a nice little response to all of you.
When i first met my Uncle Butch it was around my 8th birthday if not on it. I was enjoying my saturday practicing soccer in the back yard and my mom told me to come inside. When i got in there this crazy guy was parading in threw my front door with boxes. Not having a clue of anything at all i had to just sit back and watch him and my dad talk and joke. That day i learned about the soap box derby and how my family has been involved in it for years. Me and my dad, well mostly my dad built my first car so i could race it as soon as possible. My uncle butch was always around to help us out and stopped in frequently to talk to us. He was quite an awesome guy. After the first few years of doing the race, i learned how much the race meant to my uncle.
The Soap Box Derby Race was never about winning and moving on to Akron. It was always about getting the kids out of their house and involved in their community. It was about giving kids of all ages a sense of pride and acceptance. It was about bringing the family together for that one chance of glory. And if your family can not take home the win, you had fun doing so. In 2007 i spent some time with my uncle at the top of the hill. We talked about everything derby. We walked threw the pit area, avoiding my family so they couldnt yell at him for being out in the sun, to talk to every kid as much as possible. He knew each of the kids by name, first and last.
My Uncle Butch took the time to care about everyone at the race. He took the time pulling in as many cars as possible. He took the time to bring in as many kids as possible. My Uncle showed no favorites, not even to me, his own blood. Cause it was never about winning. Only about keeping the spirit of the race alive.
And this is how all of you repay him? Constant bikering and fighting like young kids? I thought it was your kids that were the racers? Not you? You have brought shame upon the race, and made this ONE DAY out of the year just as bad as every other sport. I grew up playing baseball, soccer, running track, and doing the derby. And its all the same now. Parents taking over and living threw their kids. You throw away good friendships and make yourself look like a complete ass infront of the community for what?
Its pathetic how much you all do nothing but fight and point the finger. Claim yourselves to be perfect and top notch. I spent the day during the 2008 race helping out random families that needed it. What did you all do? Walk around studying familys that you didnt like so when the cheat word went flying you could talk as much shit as possible?
Honestly, keep up what every you want to do. But i swear to god if i hear any of you 14 year old girls claim this is what Don wanted, or anything along the lines when you do nothing but bring down the dream he worked so hard to build. Your time will come.
And one other thing, my uncle would have had the family fix the car. Im almost always home unless im working for a very respectable man. You all probably hate him for having two kids who love to race and probably have beaten your kids. Its funny how much you claim his family to have been cheaters or along such lines. THat they were kicked out of the race when they had a family member pass away. Pathetic claims, from pathetic people.
Hopefully between 2008 race and the 2009 race you all grow up.

Hey Junior Champ,
Assuming I know who you are, you sure do know a lot about cheating! Did you cheat last year in order to beat me during the adult race in Akron? All this time I thought you beat me because you had the fast lane and I was stuck in lane 2. I should have known!
Sorry to here about the boys grand ma.
Kirk

Also thanks Kirk, I finally won a heat at Akron, sorry for cheating you.
The strand of bubble Gum from your wheel

You guy's are great , great family, great morals, great friends.

Wing Nut must be fetchin my cap from under the rollercoaster like I asked him to.
It's been a while since we heard from him.
Reality must be sinking in, how his stink is going to be on Woodbourne Rd for years to come.

ENOUGH ALREADY - MOVE ON!!!
jerry pearson- 07-11-2008
Derek,
I do not know all of these players or who is or is not telling the truth and I really do not care but DERBYNUT has lost it. I believe I speak for most of us when I ask you to NUKE this guy.
You cannot allow someone to be "called outside" on your site and his language is unacceptable. This guy is using your publically accessible site as his own private means of communication and I find that very offensive.
Thanks from all of us.
Pearson
jerry pearson- 07-11-2008
Yes, my name is Jerry and yours is?? I do not care that you are speaking what you believe to be the truth. Just do it somewhere else. There is nothing wrong with having a cause. You have simply lost control.
You seem to be very confused. This is not a blog site, this is a publiclly accessable web site that is visited by children and your language is unacceptable and an embarassment to your family that you speak so fondly. This is a web site supplied by Derek's business and your actions and language are also very disrespectful to him.
Thank you for attacking me and proving my point. See you on the track.

Listen Sue, You Are Out of Derby For Good. Have a Great Life!
You were right; I didn't know who you were. And if I recall correctly, I have signed my posts with the 4C's sig. on this site. ..PC Just happens to be an auto-login I use from work. I DON’T HIDE!
Where we were on any given day is none of your concern. The kid’s cars are the ones they helped build and tune. Not the kind that show up on race day and get DQ’ed. Obviously we do what we want, when we want. Jealous?
To address your Don comment. You once again need to read a previous post, last line. I spent hundreds of hours with Don, and had a close relationship with him, in such a short time. Nobody agrees with another 100% of the time, and we respected each others opinion. Nor, do people always take what was said at face value. It’s cheaters like you, and others, which exploited his generosity and loopholes in the way things ran.
To the rest of the racing community, I apologize for hijacking Herb’s original post, it was too tempting not to fan the flames tonight, and put this thread further, into the number one, all time record breaker category. Unfortunately for the wrong reasons.
The Local had it’s meeting last night and nothing was officially stated as to the explicit infractions. As I predicted earlier. So what are the “FACTS” Orangewood Fool? Forget I asked.

This is a private forum and we make the rules and you have definately crossed the line with that type of language. We have children that read this site and they don't have to be subjected to vulgarity. You have left me no choice but to suspend your account. Any questions you can call me at 724-346-5898 and ask for Gail.

Thanks Derek and to Jerry for suggesting something be done. Clearly there are issues somewhere that need to be adressed but this is not the proper forum for doing so.

Gail, or Derik , Do you think you can clean up the previous, vulgar posts?
I don't care that they are directed at me, it needs a little cleaning up.
