Bashing a derby local and some families, foul mouths, and some men acting like foul mouth teenagers on a FAMILY sport message board...

Lets try to clean this up and watch some of the things we are saying here guys..

I hope there isn't new families to this great sport reading this... if so, we just turned them away from derby due to this topic alone.

Many of us would use WD40 on a frozen pulley versus buying a new bag of parts (most parts not needed) never expecting a "got ya" at an AASBD local. Clearly the intent of the rules was followed and no unfair advantage was gained (unless unfreezing a stuck pulley or using an old steering wheel makes a car unfairly faster).

Were talking about VIP issues here, not DQ issues (i.e. that same issues that prevent many cars from receiving a VIP sticker at Akron). Should all locals DQ all non VIP cars after Akron's inspection?

Our family has been racing for about five years. The first two years we raced our local race only. Then we found out about the Keystone Rally Association. After one HOT weekend in Frederick, MD we were hooked. My point is this; WE RACE TO HAVE FUN! The past three years have been a blast. We have met so many great families and forged friendships that will last forever.

The last time I checked we are racing for trophies, medals, or even an occasional NASCAR fender. Not once have we raced and financially gained a thing (almost in Akron). In fact our son usually gets one of those $5000 dollar Keystone sweatshirts at the end of the year.

For those of you who need to cheat; GO FOR IT. You won't spoil our fun! Besides, the only thing that cheating proves is that you know how to cheat.

Derby nut could you tells us all what was wrong with the car in one post? I hate to see any family branded or bashed until the proof has been brought forward. This is a kids sport and it is usually not the kid behind the build.

GG Racing- 07-03-2008
Lube on a pulley on the inside of the car is wrong?!?!?!?!?! They come with some oil in them and we always cleaned that out and put our own in (to actually impeed the rotation). VIP'd 5 cars in Akron. No rule against it, no advantage except to make your steering a tad smoother.

Get real.

Don't be fooled, it's more like bushing, kingpin problems, not DW-40. Steering hardware problems, weights epoxyed to the floorboard problems. There has not been an official word on it so it's un-official for now. Wing nut is blowing smoke and the local is mum on it till next weeks meeting. Cheating comes in multiple flavors down here. Ramp setup has been the least discussed. Some locals only have a wheel problem to fix, wish it was so simple.

Yet there are far more good families/people than bad, and the local race will live on. It's just going to take some time to heal and flush out the problems. Our new Director has a lot on his plate to deal with and time will tell how its handled.

Don't get me wrong about Don, me and my family have an endearing affection for him and the great works he had to perform to keep our local rolling.

Good Point GG! Fritz non of the so-called infractions are speed related.
Lube on a pulley.
The painted center steel weights stuck to the board. This has been explained. It is caused by the sun heating the plates.
White "Chalky Reside" on the floorboard. Was caused durong paint process. IE..sanding

DerbyNut- 07-03-2008
There is another speculation from pannzi, there was no kingpin issue & no expoxing of either weights or kingpins.

Hey george, maybe you just don't know the suspension to run on that hill.

fritz kysar- 07-03-2008
You have to respect the local for trying to do what is right. It would have been easy for the local to sweep the problems under the rug or ignore it all together. This is a very nasty thing when you realize a young driver will be crushed and will always look at the builder differently. I hope that the infractions are major and obviously done on purpose to gain an advantage if the car is being disqualified.

This is not opinions, These are the facts!!!!!!!

Hey Frankie Wing Nut - The FACTS are not published. You are defending yourself. No other person would make such a defense and know so much. You are a shame to our/the Derby and have tainted ALL the prior cars that You put the Frankie Specials in. We know who they are. Our team record speeks volumes of how a honest family can do well in such swill. I might not know all the Dirty tricks you pull, but it didn't matter in the past. We took oursevlves out in the first years, hit the ramp year 1 in the finnals, hit the first set of cones year 2 finnals. Get it staight , 5 second places. New year, New Captian at the helm and things were to be looked at and fixed. The tail weight issue, half baked this year. The 4 scale was a nice addition, shame Everyone was not running tail and the one that was, won.

Raceday,I had a sick kid on my hands and one in the shoots. I'll take an honest 2nd any day over a rigged first. As a matter of fact that's what we got most years. You have no integrity what so ever, and World of Derby knows it now, thanks to this board. Your a loon. I'm far from spewing vemium, I speek for the uninformed , and advocte for the novice familys, they are the future of the derby.

As far as the kid's reputation being hurt by this, it's ALL on YOU and her MOTHER. The Derby made me do it, isn't good enough. Ackron makes the rule, that they could have pulled the car from it's seating and run next year. (for you that wanted to know) She opted (un-official) to nuke herself, not the Local. Live with it, you got caught, no witch hunt, just the truth came out. The other four cars ran clean, hats off to them, shame on you looser.

jerry pearson- 07-03-2008
All of this bickering is difficult to follow. I would like to know how many of these IDs are involved in this local. Did you have a child running against the winner and what place did your child finish?

And any others.

It sure seems like if this family was going to cheat to win, they would have done it several years ago instead of getting several years of 2nds.

DF thank you for erasing some of the really stupid comments. Language like that will get you quickly kicked out of the NDR. I hope that all of these people know there are no secrets in Derby and if any of them come to Saginaw, we will all know who they are. I can assure them they will not be targeted in any way, but they will be known.

DerbyNut- 07-04-2008
Have a great & safe 4th everyone. Taking the kids to Busch Gardens. See you's in a few days.

panzittag- 07-04-2008
Hide behind a Bush Wing Nut, Honerable men around here, sign thier posts. Although this is the internet, the upstanding sign here and don't hide. Looser, we don't attack people. I might have been wronged by George R, and, BTW he doesn't read these posts, (unless Herbie prints them for him), his family is way out of bounds.

Many of the people I don't trust have said to me, face to face, how things are, and were. Soaking the floorboard to only have it come apart, rubber between the washers or weights, and the list does go on. Unless these multiple people are pulling my chain, then they are fruit loops like you. I don't trust them till the day they hand in the trophies and publicly apoligize. Then we will have a clean race. Fat Chance......

Happy 4th, more over, to the brave men and women serving to keep us safe and free.
