The Sioux City Qualifier is May 27-28th, this weekend. And fom the list of cars I have heard will be attending, all three divisions should be real tough. A qualifier on the track hosting the Nationals is always a good time. Supposed to be real hot.

Come on out and see how you run. We will try and post the results early next week.

Game time.

Champ 220- 05-22-2006
Yes,

The weather is predicted to be rather warm just like late July. So this will be a good week end to see who's who and who has what. I think the competition will be fast and very good. Let the real fun begin.

It appears that they will have enough master cars flat and round to run separate. That's a good thing. Everybody actually likes that.

I hope to take some pictures this week and have ZE post them so all can see the quality of this track. I can assure everyone they will not be disappointed. It's a beauty.

Take care.

Who is on the list that you heard that you thought will be fast?

jerry pearson- 05-23-2006
Almost all of the areas fast Stock and SS. Including the SS 1st and 2nd place cars in Saginaw.

In masters,

Nicki Henry in Hilary's car
Menafee
Bipes
Wheeler
Kimbal
Alex Kosiski
Kyle Scottie

and I would expect a few others.

You qualify here and you have earned it.

Our family is going to Sioux City and we want to ask where do you drive the lanes at this track? I know the midwest people are very nice from what I have heard and I know they are not afraid to help someone who is new and not from the area!

jerry pearson- 05-25-2006
You will likely see most running down the lines. Some will try other things. Watch the total 2 days and take notes to see results compared to strategy. Good luck.

Champ 220- 05-26-2006
Just for the fun of it.

I would agree with what Jerry said. Most people will drive the lines and others may try and find some sweet spot.

Glad to see you are coming. You are right ask the people and they will help you any way they can. It's fun competition as it should be.

Good luck and Welcome.

just4thefunofit,

What did you learn?

just4thefunofit- 05-30-2006
We didn't make it out...weather looked bad for our long haul

jerry pearson- 05-30-2006
You missed a great 2 days of racing. It stormed Friday night but was clear at 7:00 AM Saturday. It was hot and the 25-40 MPH winds were blowing straight across the track. We had almost 80 cars. Got done Saturday around 8:00 and Sunday around 5:30.

Champ 220- 05-30-2006
Yes it was a good race and look forward to a great Nationals. I hope to get some pictures made available of the Sioux City Track. They have a couple things they plan to do that will make a great facility even better.

1. Seal Coat track. - Not bad at all as is, but will perserve track for years to come.
2. Ashpalt the return road - Will help with dust.

Ramps - Larry Doerr has made them even better than a year before. There is absolutely no crossbind, no rock on the paddles and 90 degrees. Best I have ever seen. Transition to track is smooth.

Look forward to all coming and having a good time.
