Well,

I got the new green shell today in the mail.

Nice color, it did come duller than my last shell. Perhaops its the color or lack of using the polish and cleaner prep on the dies / mold after each injection process.

I will have to get a pic of it and post.

I also wanted to share with you a polish and prep product that I tried out and seems to work pretty well.

I know many have dull shells and ask me and others how we got it so shiny.

micro-gloss polish and the sandpaper from 320o grit, on up to 12000.

it seems to take alot of those blemishes out and give it a real nice shine and polish.

I dealt with Debbie over there and she seems pretty nice and helpfull.

so, for those interested-

I have tried a few things, but this seems to really do the job, I am gonna have to get out the buffer, as my arms are sore from the rubbing.

Maybe even Derick, could get some try it out and maybe work a deal with them and offer it online.

I actually found this through pinewood derby, people using it to polish the axles and inner bore of those plastic wheels.

I received mine Monday. I will agree with the lack of shine that it has, I see several hours of polishing im my future.

k, I am having trouble with photobucket.

however, try this -

this is after polish, i still need to add some good wax,

the one shot on the table is showing a side not done yet, to show flatness in the shell.

also, my digi is not the best so the pictures do lack some in showing the shine.

What about the Spec's ?????? is the nose so snotty it pushes you up the ramp a few mm's ? Give us the scoop. How's the thickness around the bottom? Any thin spots on the flat of the hood? The new supplier started years ago with dull plastic, that not a big problem. I can shine sh"t .... We want the goods ! Givem up

Later 4C's

okay some spec's just for you.

nose .92

sides seem .70 to .72

thickness

now I checked our 2005/2006 shell

which the front nose was 1.00. (thicker)

sides were about the same .70 -.72

the top, I seen no flat spots, the same shape as our 2005/2006 shell

the plastic seems harder, stiffer (green) shell than our Red shell.
