NDR Rules: 1. Any car running a hand brake MUST have brake cables double looped & double clamped. 2. Starting with the first NDR rally in the fall season the NDR will require ALL cars to have brake cables double looped and double clamped. We strongly recommend that cars running in this years Nationals make the change for safety reasons.
The NDR 2006/2007 rally racing season will include three separate
divisions, being Stock, Super Stock and AA Scottie (flat bottom).
During the 2007 National event in Muncie, a forth division will also be
competing. This division will be for Scottie Round bottom cars and it
will include the 02 NDR Scotties Pro cars running with the 04 AA glass
wrapped cars. Details of how to enter this division will follow.
At the choice of Fall and Spring rally Race directors, this forth
Scottie division can also be conducted at all upcoming rallies. This
announcement does create the possibility of Fall and Spring races having
kids running in two different divisions at the same time. All kids
participating in this Scottie division must be at least 10 years old.
This forth division will not be running for points .
So you are saying the 2007 NDR nationals will be back at Muncie?
The 2007 NDR Nationals will be in Muncie,IN. The race will be the week after The All-American in Akron.
The same weekend as the NASCAR Nextel Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis?
July 29 2007 Indianapolis Motor Speedway ABC/ESPN. Off NASCAR web site.
I offer a suggestion to the NDR and would be currious as to what others think.
I personally agree with what Terry posted as the NDR running the 3 divisions and the glass cars as a 4th. (pros and O4 glass wrapped) Makes perfectly good sense. I would also suggest that they follow the AA rules for all 3 divisions effective January 1st. No differences. I would carry it also to the extent of age requirements. The 4th division is where I would allow the older kids continue to race. This would alsol make things very simple at rallies. People can continue to run the AA rally program and the NDR rally with NO CHANGES.
I will clarify why I think the age factor is important. We all know that the cars are all now very much alike in assembly. Granted some do it better than otheres. Driving has always been important but now it's even more so. There is certainly an advantage of having a 20 year old Super Stock driver racing say a 12- 14 year old. Same holds true in the Flat Bottoms. Age / maturity is a big factor.
Most of the older drivers are also running the Scottie Pros / Glass wrapped cars so they still will be involved. That is a good thing. It gives those that want to continue to race an opportunity to do so. Also it may cause people to build some of these cars to keep it going???? Once they age out of the Flat Bottom they can convert the car to a Scottie Pro / Glass wrapped.
Again this is my opinion and currious as to what others may think. The NDR is a great program and looking for ways to grow.
Have a great day.
