Many of you have asked about seeing pictures of the Sioux City facility. I talked with Chad in Sioux City last night and he told me they are just about finished with their Web site and hope to have it completed with in the next month. Included will be several pictures. I also think he wants to tie this in to the NDR web site so when people go there they can get to Sioux City's web site as well.
So it is coming and I think you will be VERY PLEASED with what you see. The track is first rate and the NDR Nationals will be a well organized event!!!!
I was born and raised in Sioux City and obviously have strong ties. (Now in Omaha) Where the track is located there are many things close to it to do other than race.
Hotels - 3 blocks
Semi Pro baseball Team - right on site of the track
Shopping - 1/2 mile for 2 malls - one just scheduled to open in fall 2005
River Boat Casino - 2 miles
Bowling, Miniture golf, go-carts batting cages etc - 1 block
Historical Lewis and CLark - 1 mile
You could drive to Omaha in 1 hour 45 minutes and go to one of the best Zoo's in the country if your not racing that day or finished early
Last but not least - A trip to Charlie Miles for a one and a kind sandwich called a Charlie Boy. Yes it is a hole in the wall type place and has been in business for over 65 years. It's a Tavern that serves food. (JUST CHARLIE BOYS and CHIPS)
Any local in Sioux City normally knows of this spot!
Good luck to all and when the web site is up - take a look.
