We had a good crop of trophy winners this year, trophies are given out to 4th but I couldn't remember any of the fourth place kids. The top 3 in each division are very memorable however.

STOCK

1. Eleanor Shon - finished 4th last year, has a very fast car (for a club car).
2. Maija Liimatinen - very new racer, should easily win next year, younger sister of two Akron trophy-winners.
3. Jele Magdelena - we’ve been helping him, a very nice kid and straight driver, driving my old Stock club car. He finished 2nd last year.

SUPER STOCK

1. Koby Garnhart - 2003 Stock Rally world champion, excellent driver. This was his first local in a while (after a foray into go-karts). Fellow world-champion Justin Kurk showed him the track at inspection last week but otherwise he'd never seen it before.
2. Rachel Reed - A very experienced racer and member of the 200 point club, got 3rd the previous year despite having never driven the track before.
3. Alex Shon - The 2004 Stock champion. Eleanor’s older brother, and got 4th last year.

MASTERS

1. Clark Chism - Me! I had the fastest car by far but had some trouble driving. I was the Super Stock champ last year, although I finished second (long story). This was my first win after 4 years of racing and 7 second places.
2. David Pedley - Finished 3rd last year, good driver, nice kid, pretty fast car. He should rally!
3. Eric King - District 5 masters rally champ last year, and rallied ineligibly this year. Eric finished 2nd in masters the previous two years, both times with a flat-bottom car against world-class wrapped scotties.

We had a very fun and well-run race, except for having to sweep up ground-up tires spread on the track by disgruntled locals. (It's a street track in a residential neighborhood). There was also one stock car crash, a brake failure, and the body was a write-off.
