My son and I run a hand sticked car on street courses that are far from ideal, in B.C. Canada. We run a solid rear axle mount with 1/2 inch contact patch and radius rods to stabilize the axle. In the front we run an H mount with a 1/2 inch contact patch, we run tight. The rules allow us to run 30 inch min to a 36 inch max axle length. The car is currently running 36 inch long axles. The reason I chose to run the long axle is that I felt the car would be more stable on poorly paved roads. I would like your thoughts if I might be faster if we ran 30 inch axles because of the better aero or an axle length in between? Thank You for your input. Bernhard.
I would think the AERO is a nice advantage. You have to decide like you said will the car be stable. If not then keep it wide. As far a bearings go ceramic is faster.
