Why is the second day of qualifying single elimination and not a double?
just4thefunofit- 06-14-2006
I agree it should be a double on the second day!
T HENRY- 06-14-2006
We normally have 3 days of single elimination races. This year they want to shorten up to week by one day to allow people two days of travel time to get home. That's why we went with a double elimination on the first day and a single on the second day. it should work out the same way.

how does the double elimination qualifying day work? is it really two sets of single elimination? Or is it run down the winners bracket to a certain point and those cars are in and then run down the losers bracket to a set point and those cars are in too?
T HENRY- 06-14-2006
Brad, that's how it will work this year. depending on the number of cars, we will run down to a certain spot on both sides of the chart. Therefore you can have one loss and still get in. make sense? TH
just4thefunofit- 06-14-2006
Do that on the second day too, double
4 cam tbird- 06-14-2006
Seems like a decent idea to do a double and a single. Really, the concept isn't that much different than three singles. Although it would prevent something like, say, the same two cars racing all three days of qualifying. Which sounds impossible but it did screw Kristen in Indy. I even raced the same person two qualification days one year, although it worked out a little more favorably for me.

Note to everyone attending this years Nationals. We will be doing all inspections in the Annex building, The Annex is located just south of Explorers stadium.( the stadium sits between the track and the Annex building ) we will have registration ,scales, pictures and all inspections inside this AIR conditioned building. All cars will then go outside to the race return trailers and taken to the hill for test runs.

How early can we come on sunday, since nobody is driving from akron this year, people can make it earlier. Can we start inspections sun day at 9 or 10 am?
T HENRY- 07-19-2006
Dusty, We have set the time at 12:00 noon. We need to get set up and inspectors in place, registration , scales, ect. all set up after the Annex opens its doors for us. I would say if you want to be first in line get there before noon and line up at the overhead door. we will start as soon as we are set up. Terry

The NDR is aware that the AA has several rule changes for the upcoming
2007 racing season. However, the 2006 NDR Nationals will be ran
following the existing 2006 rules. Following the NDR Nationals, all
future rule changes will be reviewed and implemented to best complement
the future of the NDR.
just4thefunofit- 08-11-2006
The AA made major "tenative" rule changes. Can anyone "in the know" enlighten the world about what is going to happen. Is NDR going to go with AA on the stock (no turnbuckles on radius rods, pvc device) and super stock changes (only 1 washer stack allowed and the elimination of turnbuckles being replaced by pvc tension device, screw placed in nose) or are we going to need two cars...one for aa and one for NDR?
Just to let eveyone know....changing the steering to the pvc tensioners and eliminating the turnbuckle will require new stringing of the car's steering.
Will we have to have these changes by the fall rallies? What does the aa mean when they say tenative?Probably should know soon for rallies
